About UniKaren Designs: Purchasing a UniKaren Design means you are getting an ORIGINAL outfit. Since I was a teenager, I have been designing and sewing square dance outfits... it's been 40 years now. To this day I still have hundreds of design ideas and I look forward to seeing them come to fruition, and hope that you will continue to enjoy what I create.

Privacy Policy: All items are discretely packaged. Tissue is folded into the outfit to prevent wrinkling as much as possible. Item is then wrapped in plastic before box packaging. A mailing label is placed on the inside parcel in the event the outside parcel is damaged. For items going outside of the country, please inform me as to what you want written on the declaration. I respect your need for discretion.

Fabric: Poly cotton blue & white gingham - small checks and mini checks, combined with white 100% cotton embroidered eyelet. The full skirt fits over a very full petticoat, shown here on a 150-yard crystal organza white petti, not included. The 8-gored full skirt is made with the 1/4" blue checked fabric. The bottom tier is made from a short strip of the tiny checks, and has 3" flat floral white lace attached to create the hem, and a narrow white flat lace along the top edge. It is ruffled up and attached with a ruffled white nylon lace. Above the bottom tier is a row of ruffled 100% cotton embroidered eyelet, with white lace attached to the top edge. This lace sweeps up to the center back and between the sweeps are yards and yards of ruffles. The rufflebutt ruffles are made from the tiny checked print, with white lace along the top edge as well as the hem. It is gathered up and attached with ruffled white nylon lace. The bodice is made from white eyelet, and features a heart made from the larger check fabric. It is surrounded by the white embroidered ruffle that matches the skirt, and is attached with ruffled white lace. Above the peaks of the heart are tiny gingham print ruffles that are made the same as the rufflebutt section of the dress, and these go up and over the shoulders to the center back. White ruffled lace is sandwiched between the two layers of the Peter Pan collar, made from eyelet and lined in smooth white nylon lining. The neckline is finished with white bias tape trim. Sleeves are cut from the embroidered eyelet to create a beautiful edging for the sleeves. They are pleated at the shoulder for a professional finish, and are elasticized for a comfortable upper arm fit. The little apron is made from the embroidered edge of the white eyelet fabric and stands on its own with a simple side seam, no other trim. It is attached at the center front of the dress. The apron edge matches the sleeve edges. Sashes made from the larger checks stem from the side seams and create a lovely bow above the center back ruffles. The bloomers are made with elasticized leg openings and waistband for a comfortable fit. The base of the bloomers is made from the larger check print, and then three rows of the tiny gingham check print with white lace are attached at the back.
