My Story
My experience in sewing started when I was a
teenager in 1974
and needed outfits for the square dance club that I joined.
Originally this site featured all those designs.
My husband and I still dance to this day.
The higher level of square dancing we did, the less the dress code was
enforced.
I started selling off all of our outfits on eBay, but continued to
design and sell them to other dancers.
This opened the door to a whole new world of possibilities
when I discovered that it was not only dancers buying my outfits.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Below you will find the links to the original square dance designs
that got me into this business.

DESCRIPTION |
|
'Tis the season to wear something pretty for Christmas. |
|
Outfits made with Indian prints, using conchos and feathers for trim. |
|
Men's shirts are creatively cut to maximize the print. |
|
Fabrics featuring animals and outdoor activities... eagles, deer, horses,
snakeskin... |
|
Sometimes men like to match their partners. |
|
Ideal for traveling... take one skirt and several tops, add a vest, remove a
concho, add an overskirt... change the look!!! |
|
When the Mickey Mouse dust ruffle looks soooo inviting to make a square dance
outfit with.... |
|
Many more outfits, all thumbnail-size so you can click on the ones you want
to look at in enlarged view. |
|
The effect of quilting without the effort! |
|
To show off the country that you live in or visited... |
|
Pink is one of my favorite colors. |
|
Callerlab approved long prairie skirts as acceptable square
dance wear for ladies. |
|
From circle skirts to gored skirts... from ruffles and lace to something simple,
anything goes...where she stops, nobody knows.... |
|
The "signature" design for UniKaren Designs... a mini yoke on
alternating gores in the skirt, tipped off with conchos with beads &
feathers... |
|
I am not into stripes, but when vibrant colors like red & royal blue
are combined with yokes, conchos & feathers... |
|
A pretty array of lightweight, sleeveless dresses. |
|
Square dance clothes which incorporate the increasingly popular "western" look of yokes and fringes. |
